In a year that has been devastating for so many, people are looking for hope and encouragement. This longing for hope inspired Dr. Randy Ross, CEO of Remarkable! to write his latest book Hope Rises. He joined us today, to talk about his new book and what he would like readers to take away from it.

Back in the second and third business quarters of this year, Ross had a packed schedule of speaking engagements. However, like the majority of other events, his keynotes had to be postponed or canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this period, Ross realized that so many people were carrying different burdens and struggles as a result of the virus. So, he decided to write a substantive, research-based book about hope. Through his research, Ross extracted the most helpful points and put them into language that everybody could comfortably grasp.

Ross’s aim with this book is to help readers find some encouragement and hope and pass it along to other people in their lives who might need it. According to Ross, hope is widely misunderstood. It’s not wishful thinking or simply having a positive attitude. It’s a dynamic motivational system tied to an inspirational goal setting. Ross has also isolated four elements of hope including positivity, responsibility, agility, and reality. He spends the rest of his conversation with anchor Jim Fitzpatrick taking a deep dive into each of these elements, and how they can inspire your employees and customers.

Dr. Randy Ross has decades of experience as a speaker, company culture expert, and bestselling author. His work includes Remarkable, Relationomics: Business Powered by Relationships, and his latest release, Hope Rises, out now. Ross also founded the training and speaking platform Remarkable!, where he has worked with clients like brands like Cox Communications, Chick-fil-A, and Keller Williams. Before founding Remarkable!, Ross led several not-for-profit entities in the Southeast and was vice president of recruiting for a large regional mortgage corporation.
