Tesla released its vehicle production and delivery report for the fourth quarter of 2022. According to a press release, Tesla produced over 439,000 vehicles and delivered over 405,000, an annual increase of 47% and 40%, respectively. Total deliveries for the EV maker reached 1.31 million over the course of the year. However, deliveries still missed market estimates as well as CEO Elon Musk’s annual targets. Read More

EV tax credits, creditThe U.S. Treasury Department released further guidance last week allowing leased vehicles to possibly qualify for new commercial EV tax credits without meeting strict production requirements. Democrat Senator Joe Manchin blasted the guidance, arguing that it undermines the law’s intent to reduce dependence on “foreign adversaries.” He vows to introduce new legislation to prevent the treasury from enacting this interpretation. trade-in December auto salesCox Automotive has forecasted December’s new vehicle sales to reach 1.27 million units, increasing almost 4% from December 2021. According to Kelley Blue Book’s vehicle counts, full-year sales for 2022 are expected to be close to 13.9 million units, the lowest level since 2011. Read More
