Order books close for 2023 Ford Maverick due to high demand

Ford Maverick

The order book for the new 2023 Ford Maverick hybrid is closed less than a week after it was opened, according to a leaked official bulletin from Ford. The same will be true for Ford pickups powered by the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, including the new Maverick Tremor, an off-road version of the compact pickup.

According to a spokesman for the company, production is struggling to keep up with demand for the pickups. Over 50,000 units have been delivered to customers this year, and nearly half of those are front-wheel-drive hybrids.

The popularity of the Ford Maverick model is even attracting new customers to the Ford brand. 60% of buyers are new to the brand, including 80% of the hybrid model buyers.

The Ford Maverick is equipped with upgrades to enable more off-roading capabilities. It features a turbocharged engine and a standard all-wheel-drive system borrowed from the Bronco Sport SUV. The wheel and tire package increases its ground clearance by .8 inches to 9.4-inches. The model also features protective underbody skid plates and low-speed trail control cruise control.

Ford said it would be shipping additional Mavericks for dealer stock along with custom orders. So, a lucky few may find some on dealer lots if they could not get an order in by the short deadline.
