Stellantis paves way for new joint venture focused on recycling ‘end-of-life’ vehicles

The company has previously shared its plan called “Dare Forward 2030,” that will account for 50% of U.S. vehicle sales and 100% of European sales will be BEVs by the end of the decade.

Global automaker, Stellantis, has announced a new joint venture with metal recycling specialist Galloo. The partnership aims to develop a more circular economy as the automaker aims to become greener by 2030.

Together, Stellantis and Galloo intend to implement a service to recycle end-of-life vehicles (ELVs), from former’s brands and other automakers.

Stellantis has finally decided to promote an eco-friendly and effective method of car production by embracing electrification and its associated business methods. The automaker has focused on the North American EV market in particular, marketing its electrified Ram and Jeep brands and other efforts to create EV batteries.

The company has previously shared its plan called “Dare Forward 2030,” in which 50% of U.S. vehicle sales and 100% of European sales will be BEVs by the end of the decade. Additionally, the automaker intends to become more carbon-neutral by 2038.

However, to get there, Stellantis is focusing on curricular economy strategies using the following ideas: reman, repair, reuse, and recycle. Finally, the joint venture Galloo will bring in its 85 years of experience.

Senior Vice President for the Global Circular Economy at Stellantis Ms. Alison Jones said, “One of the most important ways to lessen the environmental impact of our vehicles is by making it simple for consumers to recycle their used cars. Returning components and materials to the supply chain helps us achieve our goal of becoming carbon net zero by 2038 while preserving limited resources. We are eager to start the program this year and swiftly grow it.”
