How to improve dealership mobility, data security, and communication during the COVID-19 pandemic – Sharon Kitzman, Dominion DMS

With the 2021 NADA virtual show just a few days away, anchor Jim Fitzpatrick talks with Dominion DMS President Sharon Kitzman. Dominion DMS is a leading provider of dealership management systems software to automotive retail dealerships. Dominion is equipped with strong solutions like the new VUE DMS solution that is built to help dealerships increase efficiency and profitability. Activator is a fully automated marketing platform that uses AI and data science to craft precise messages to customers. The company also offers the Dealer Specialties solutions which are used to help dealers manage inventories with software and services.

Kitzman begins the conversation by looking back at 2020 and how it impacted business. She says that many of her clients were unsure how long the pandemic would last. Over time, dealers learned that the policies and procedures implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic were here to stay. Kitzman says that dealers had to quickly figure out how to utilize mobile platforms to meet the needs of customers outside of the dealership.

Kitzman then discusses the company’s latest product, Dominion VUE. This new solution helps answer the changes that dealers had to make in 2020 including mobility, data security, and advanced communication. The product is cloud-native, which allows the software to be accessible without the need for a VPN or specific devices. Dominion is able to offer this secure advanced technology to dealers through its partnership with Microsoft.

Kitzman concludes the conversation by sharing her thoughts on the flexibility of working remotely. She says that dealers will have to make long-term decisions on who will need to come back into the office and who will continue working from home. She says that clients of Dominion were able to utilize the solutions to realize that certain departments weren’t necessarily needed at the dealership such as the accounting division.
