Making this Saturday a day for success

David Lewis:
Good morning, everyone, and welcome to today’s Saturday Morning Sales Meeting. I am David Lewis, and today I want to ask you a question that can turn this normal Saturday into a powerful day of success for you. Here is the question. How do you perceive yourself? Are you a champion or a chump? You see, how you perceive yourself will determine how the customer you meet today will perceive you to be. The confidence you have in yourself will become the confidence they have in you as their salesperson. The lack of confidence you have in yourself will determine the lack of confidence they have in you as well. You see, perception is reality, and the perception you create in the customer will be the reality of what they think about you. This will determine whether they want to buy a car from you today, or whether they will choose to go somewhere else and look for another salesperson.

They don’t know who you are. You have to show them that by the way you treat them. If you believe you are the right person to earn their business, you will them in the way that you would want to be treated if you were standing in their shoes. Do you look and feel like a professional who is self-confident, likes what they do, and tries to be the best they can be? If you do, then this is how the customer will perceive you to be. Are you smiling, happy, and ready to give your customers the attention they deserve and the best sales presentation you’ve ever given to anyone before? Are you polite, friendly, enthusiastic, and inspiring? Do you stand out from the crowd as someone who is unique and different from other car salespeople? If you see yourself in that way, that is how the customer you meet today will perceive you as well.

Are you wrinkle-free, odor-free, and attitude-free? Are you certain that the best thing that could happen to this customer is they could buy a car from you? If you truly feel that way, that is how the customer will feel about you as well. You see, you create ‘the you’, that you want your customer to perceive. You decide what the customer will think about you, and whether or not they want to do business with you. If you are comfortable with yourself, the customer will be comfortable with you. Never forget that perception is reality. The perception you have of yourself today will create the perception the customer will have of you. Again, are you a champion or a chump? You decide. Whatever you decide you want your customer to see in you will become the reality of how they perceive you to be. Good luck, have fun, be that champion.
