“This is a critical moment for our business to ensure we are fully leveraging this opportunity to win more customers, delight them with our driving and ownership experiences, and earn their loyalty for the long term,” Harvey said in a statement.

In his new role, MacPhee will work closely with regional teams to deliver unified commercial growth strategies and expand GM’s reach in global markets. Reporting to him will be Jack Uppal, president and managing director of GM Africa and Middle East Operations; Jean-Pierre Diernaz, acting managing director of GM Europe; and Jess Bala, managing director of GM Australia and New Zealand.

With nearly two decades at GM, MacPhee brings a strong record of driving performance and innovation. He played a key role in Chevrolet’s rise from ninth to second place in U.S. EV sales and led Chevrolet Trucks to surpass Ford’s F-Series in overall retail truck sales in 2022. He also oversaw three consecutive years of Chevrolet market share growth.

As part of the leadership changes, Brad Franz, currently Global Cadillac Marketing Director, will replace MacPhee as director of Chevrolet Sales Operations, reporting to Global Chevrolet Vice President Scott Bell. Meanwhile, Rich Latek, Buick and GMC Marketing Director, will assume the role of Global Cadillac Marketing Director.
