How Market Scan is eliminating the disconnect between auto retail professionals and their digital retailing partners – Rusty West, Co-founder

Automotive retail professionals are gearing up for the start of the 2021 NADA virtual show, including Rusty West, Co-Founder and President of Market Scan, a cutting edge technology and data solutions company. Today, the most profound changes in consumer behavior have made digital retailing excellence essential for dealers. Market Scan provides scientifically-driven solutions for all vehicle transactions.

2020 was a challenging year for the automotive sector. The industry evolved tremendously in a short period of time, and the dealers that were able to pivot quickly and adapt, saw the most success. In fact, Market Scan serviced approximately 3,000 rooftops in early 2020. Today, that number has boomed to around 8,400.

Dealers were then faced with the challenge of being accurately represented online. There was largely a disconnect between the dealer and their digital retailing partner to provide accurate and useful information to the consumer. West and Market Scan have over 30 years of experience doing just that. West started the company by writing a software package, after graduating college, for his father, who was also a dealer.

The bulk of the business now is powering a variety of technology companies. Market Scan aggregates vast amounts of data in order to calculate accurate payments, provide dealers with desking tools, and enable efficient retail transactions with maximum visibility of available OEM and lender programs.

Consumer expectations and behavior drives the need for these kinds of changes. Market Scan’s solutions can help any dealership, tech company, lender or OEM provide more competitive offers and improve the consumer journey. For example, General Motors needed a way to improve the accuracy of its payments and offers between the online quote and what the dealer was willing to do in the showroom. In a few short weeks, Market Scan solved this issue, and consumers responding dramatically. GM dealers’ became far more confident in Shop.Click.Drive. as well.
