CDK Global’s Kathy Gilbert discusses advocating for minority dealers and helping them achieve their goals

As dealers prepare for the 2021 NADA virtual show, we’re joined by Kathy Gilbert, Senior Director of Minority Dealers & Women Retail at CDK Global. CDK Global has been serving the automotive industry for more than 40 years, with solutions that help dealers serve their customer base and grow their business. From management and marketing to sales and service, CDK products are developed specifically for dealers. CDK has also had a tremendous impact in the minority space of automotive retail, supporting minority dealers in numerous ways.

Gilbert begins the conversation by discussing CDK’s involvement in the virtual NADA show. She says the company has pivoted to showcase its product lineup at the virtual exhibit show. CDK is also doing several meetings with minority and female dealers to communicate what the company is planning in 2021.

Gilbert says that 2020 was a “unique year.” She says that her role is to advocate for minority dealers to meet their needs and ensure their businesses continue to grow. In advocating for minority dealers, Gilbert says that CDK is helping minority dealers adjust to meet the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes equipping minority and women dealers with modern retailing technologies to accommodate their customers.

Gilbert concludes the conversation by stating that now is the time to build an inclusive culture in automotive. She says the CDK is partnering with OEM leadership to generate change at the executive level. Diversity must start at the top, and CDK is dedicated to making that happen.
