Jim Ellis Auto Group CEO Jimmy Ellis gears up for their annual Holiday Giving Campaign

The holidays are very difficult for many families. Some face economic hardships and others face the loneliness of missing loved ones. The holidays are a perfect time for dealers to give back, especially in a year where COVID-19 has devastated so many people. Jim Ellis Automotive Group is working diligently to spark some hope and joy this season with its annual Holiday Giving Campaign. President and CEO Jimmy Ellis joined CBT News to discuss the charitable work his auto group is doing through the annual giving campaign. Jim Ellis Automotive Group has been giving back to the community around the holidays for over 50 years, and Ellis believes this could be one of the most important years to give back.

Ellis opens the conversation by giving an update on how his business has adjusted to the pandemic. Ellis says that his dealership has fared well throughout the pandemic and says he’s been encouraged by the perseverance of the industry as a whole. He says he is optimistic looking to the future, as a vaccine seems to be on the horizon.

Ellis accredits the company’s spirit of generous giving to his parents, the founders of the Jim Ellis Automotive group. Even before their success, Jim Ellis and his wife, Billie were very generous to those in need. Ellis, being a second-generation dealer, has passed down the values his parents taught him to his children and his staff.

This year, the auto group has partnered with The Empty Stocking Fund, a nonprofit organization benefiting metro Atlanta children in need. Many of these children are in foster care and are unable to have presents for Christmas. Ellis said the auto group is donating a position of their vehicle sales to the organization to help provide these children with gifts on Christmas.

Ellis says that these campaigns engage their entire organization and help build a positive culture across the entire organization. He says that employees have been so excited to give back and engage with their communities. The employees proudly carry the Jim Ellis name in their personal work helping nonprofit groups near to their hearts.
