Hyundai shows off revamped 2025 Santa Cruz at NY Auto Show

With a redesigned front appearance that harmonizes with the updated 2025 Tucson SUV, which serves as its basis.

At the New York International Auto Show, Hyundai revealed an enhanced 2025 Santa Cruz Sport Adventure Vehicle.

During the show, Brad Arnold, Hyundai Design North America’s senior design manager for exteriors, guided the audience through the design enhancements. The relevance of the updated Santa Cruz and Tucson SUVs in Hyundai’s range was emphasized by José Muñoz, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America, as well as global COO of Hyundai Motor Company. Olabisi Boyle, senior vice president of product planning and mobility strategy for Hyundai Motor North America, offered views on how these features will surpass the expectations of new Santa Cruz buyers.

The Santa Cruz features updated infotainment, more sophisticated driving aid technologies, and revamped external and interior surfaces. California-designed 2025 Santa Cruz vehicles will be available this summer at Hyundai stores. With a redesigned front appearance that harmonizes with the updated 2025 Tucson SUV, which serves as its basis, the Santa Cruz appears more aggressive than it did previously. The newest wheel designs are particularly eye-catching. Two new paint colors are available, Canyon Red and Rockwood Green, in addition to a new shade of Medium Gray for the seats.

With unique front and rear bumper designs that also slightly increase the approach angle, the XRT trim, which previously just had minor trim alterations, now appears even more appropriate for off-roading. Additionally, the grille is more distinct, and adding new 18-inch wheels with 245/60 all-terrain tires increases the vehicle’s capability.

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz continues with its existing engines, including a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 191 horsepower, a more responsive eight-speed automatic, and an optional turbocharged version producing 281 horsepower with an eight-speed dual-clutch. It features optional all-wheel drive, a new towing mode for Limited and XRT models, and maintains towing capacities of 3500 and 5000 pounds. Set to release in summer, its price will slightly exceed the 2024 model’s base of $28,275.
