Ford Pro launches Telematics asset tracking and software upgrades for year-end fleet efficiency

The new GPS tracking, mobile alerts, and analytics tools streamline fleet management for dealerships and businesses.
Ford Pro, Telematics

On the Dash:

  • Ford Pro has launched new Telematics features, including Asset Tracking, which enhances GPS tracking, battery monitoring, and overall fleet visibility.
  • The latest software updates provide improvements in several areas, including geofencing, vehicle efficiency APIs, tire pressure monitoring, and driver behavior controls.
  • Bundled tools and Electrification Advisory Services are designed to simplify fleet management and assist businesses in transitioning to EVs.

Ford Pro is rolling out a series of year-end software upgrades and a new product, Ford Pro Telematics with Asset Tracking, designed to help fleet managers stay productive and maintain visibility during one of the busiest seasons.

The GPS-enabled asset tracker, available in wired, battery-powered, or solar-powered options, allows dealerships to monitor equipment from skid steers and forklifts to food carts, providing real-time location, trip history, and battery alerts through the Ford Pro Telematics Drive app.

The update includes low-battery notifications, geofence improvements (bulk import and multi-group assignment), and mobile alerts for geofence rule violations. Managers can now track vehicles and assets more efficiently, with enhanced map views, search functions, and customizable dashboards.

Additional upgrades improve vehicle oversight and driver management. Expanded tire pressure monitoring now covers PID-equipped vehicles, and remote lock/unlock status alerts enhance security. Fleet managers can also enforce speed and acceleration limits on select vehicles without extra hardware. Dashcam events are easier to filter and review, supporting safety, incident response, and driver coaching.

Ford Pro also launched software bundles combining Telematics, Fleet Management, and Dashcam tools, offering simplified management and added value. The new Vehicle Efficiency REST API enables dealers to integrate fuel and energy data into internal reporting systems. Electrification Advisory Services help dealerships transition to EV fleets, assisting more than 17,000 businesses to date.

Together, these updates provide dealership personnel with better visibility, operational control, and insights into fleet performance, helping maintain efficiency and security during peak year-end activity and beyond.
