In the first quarter (Q1), Ford had a strong sales performance and achieved growth in its market share. This growth was due to the company’s diverse range of vehicles, including gas, hybrid, and electric models.

Ford’s introduction of features such as BlueCruise hands-free driving and services like Pickup & Delivery and Mobile Service also helped to drive sales growth. The company’s U.S. sales, which included the Lincoln brand, increased by 7%, surpassing the industry average.

The company had record-breaking hybrid sales, with the Ford Maverick being America’s top-selling hybrid vehicle. This contributed to a 42% increase in hybrid sales, with a total of 38,421 units sold, marking a historical high for the automaker in the hybrid sector. This also confirmed Ford’s position as the leading truck manufacturer in the U.S.

Furthermore, the F-Series continued to be America’s best-selling truck, with the F-150’s new sales leading to a total of 152,943 units sold in Q1. The Super Duty and Maverick models also saw sales increases of 23% and 82%, respectively.

Ford’s SUV sales hit a record high, with 216,997 units sold, led by the Explorer as the best-selling three-row SUV. The Escape, Bronco Sport, and Expedition models also saw notable sales growth.

In addition, EV sales increased by 86%, with 20,223 units sold, making Ford the second best-selling EV brand in the U.S. The Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, and E-Transit all saw substantial sales increases, with the E-Transit achieving its best-ever quarter.

The Transit van celebrated ten years in the U.S. with a 25% increase in sales, contributing to a 19% rise in total commercial van sales to 55,295 units. This reinforced Ford’s dominance in this market for 45 years.
