Cox Automotive expands its Pivet network with the acquisition of Dickinson Fleet Services

Cox Automotive recently announced its acquisition of Dickinson Fleet Services, one of the country’s leading mobile maintenance providers for medium and heavy-duty trucks as well as trailers. This investment significantly bolsters the capabilities and reach of Cox Automotive Mobility’s nationwide Pivet fleet services marketplace.

On today’s show, we’re going to dive into what this acquisition means for the Pivet platform moving forward. We’re pleased to welcome Alex Fraser, assistant vice president of Pivet, Cox Automotive Mobility.

Dickinson’s range of maintenance and mobile emergency repair service capabilities includes a fleet of more than 700 mobile repair units and 800 repair and maintenance technicians.  This expansion will enhance Pivet’s existing network of fleet service offerings.

According to Fraser, Cox Automotive Mobility is always striving to power the fleet future, and the ability to maintain and repair vehicles in a mobile fashion is crucial. Dickinson Fleet Services is the largest provider of those services in the marketplace currently.

The way service repairs are being delivered is undergoing a lot of change in the market. Fraser asserts that while service centers won’t be going anywhere any time soon, Cox Automotive brands like Xtime and Clutch have enabled dealers to execute new pickup and delivery services for consumers. It’s important to point out that the acquisition of Dickinson Fleet Services is not designed to compete with dealer partners.

In fact, Dickinson exclusively works with medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers. As Cox Automotive learns more from Dickinson, they can pass on these learnings to their dealer partners who deal largely with light-duty trucks and SUVs.
