Stellantis sets sights on 2026 sales rebound in the U.S.

After seven years of U.S. sales declines, Stellantis is leaning on dealers, new products, and stronger incentives to regain market share.

Stellantis, Q3 European sales

On the Dash:

  • Stellantis targets 1.15 million U.S. retail sales in 2026, emphasizing dealer collaboration and market share recovery.
  • New product launches, including the Jeep Cherokee and Dodge Charger Sixpack, and local ad support aim to drive showroom momentum.
  • Dealer optimism grows with potential V-8 additions and positive early 2026 sales signals from refreshed Jeep and Ram models.

Stellantis is moving to reverse seven consecutive years of U.S. sales declines, telling dealers at the NADA Show that 2026 will be a year of execution. The automaker is targeting 1.15 million retail sales, a 25% increase over last year, by rebuilding relationships with dealers and leveraging new product offerings.

CEO Antonio Filosa, unable to attend the show in person, delivered a video message stressing the importance of collaboration with dealers.

The automaker is supporting the rebound with a product blitz, including the redesigned Jeep Cherokee and the gasoline-powered Dodge Charger Sixpack. Local advertising support, known as Tier 3, has increased from $250 to $400 to help dealers boost marketing efforts. Jeep is also exploring adding V-8 engines to the Grand Cherokee and Gladiator, providing halo models to attract buyers.

Stellantis finished 2025 with U.S. sales of 1.3 million vehicles, down 3.5% amid tariffs and the expiration of the federal EV tax credit. Still, gains in the third and fourth quarters, along with the strong early 2026 performance of refreshed Jeep and Grand Wagoneer models, signal renewed momentum.

Sean Hogan, chairman of the Stellantis National Dealer Council, said during the event that the company has laid the foundation for a stronger future.

Meanwhile, dealers expressed cautious optimism heading into the year, noting better inventory mixes and early signs of stronger sales. After a period of frustration under previous leadership, the outlook at Stellantis appears to be improving, driven by a combination of product innovation, dealer alignment, and renewed marketing support.
