Bigger is better when it comes to Cadillac’s new 2023 Escalade-V

2023 Escalade-V

In an early review, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V seems to have found a sweet spot, combining power, luxury, and innovation. Boasting 682 horsepower, the Escalade-V is predicted to out-perform SUVs produced by BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

The 6.2 liter V8 replaces the 1.7-liter blower with a bigger 2.7-liter Eaton blower, seemingly replicating the C7 Corvette ZR1’s supercharger when considering size and scope. At 653 pound-feet of torque and a highly-tuned 10-speed automatic transmission with a full manual mode, this beauty hits 80% of that torque at just 2,000 RPM and goes from 0 to 60 in less than 4.5 seconds.

For those who need more speed and control, the V mode button near the shifter will be your confidante. Once engaged, quickly tap the brakes, then the gas, and enjoy an intense jump to approximately 1,800 RPM in no time.

The 6,400+-pound luxury SUV revs into gear as fast as it brakes, thanks to the 16.1-inch, six-piston Brembo rotors on the front wheels. Standard features include magnetic ride control, air ride suspension, four-wheel drive, and a high-end interior with a list of options to satisfy drivers and passengers, and you’ve got the total package.
