The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R has set new standards in performance and comfort during its recent testing in California’s Mojave Desert. Priced at $110,225 (excluding destination charge), this ultimate desert racer boasts more power, advanced electronic controls, and significant suspension upgrades.

During testing on parts of the famous King of Hammers race course and surrounding desert, the Raptor R demonstrated impressive capabilities. With 37-inch tires and the Baja drive mode engaged, the vehicle comfortably tackled hard-packed sand trails at 70 mph. The advanced Fox shock absorbers ensured a smooth ride, absorbing rapid impacts efficiently.

Additionally, the Raptor R has been substantially upgraded to enhance power, suspension, and handling. The power has been increased to 720 hp, making it the most powerful internal combustion production pickup, while torque remains at 640 pound-feet. Suspension and steering upgrades also include:

  • More wheel travel.
  • A faster 16:1 steering ratio.
  • A stiffer steering column.
  • Electronically controlled dual-valve Fox racing shocks.

The exterior features a new grille, headlights, taillights, and a modular bumper for off-road accessories. Updates include a standard head-up display and a new digital instrument cluster.

The 2024 F-150 Raptor R combines a sporty, luxurious interior with advanced safety and driver assistance systems. It offers extraordinary off-road capability and is designed for five passengers. It has a 4WD, full-size pickup, a 5.2L supercharged V8 engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and a towing capacity of 8,700 pounds.
