Ram and Pacifica drive Stellantis to fourth straight quarter of U.S. sales growth

Stellantis posted a 6% gain in Q2 as Ram pickups and a refreshed Chrysler Pacifica offset continued weakness at Jeep and Dodge.

On the Dash:

  • Stellantis sold 328,284 vehicles in Q2 2026, up 6% year-over-year, and 634,345 in the first half, up 5%.
  • Ram total pickup sales rose 14% in the quarter, while Chrysler brand sales jumped 80% on the strength of the refreshed Pacifica.
  • Jeep sales fell 5% and Dodge dropped 15%, with the new Cherokee hybrid yet to gain meaningful traction on dealer lots.

Stellantis posted its fourth consecutive quarter of year-over-year U.S. sales growth. The company sold 328,284 vehicles in Q2, up 6% from the same period last year. First-half sales reached 634,345, a 5% increase over the first half of 2025.

Ram carried the quarter. Total pickup sales rose 14% versus Q2 2025. Ram light-duty pickups were up 27%, reaching 65,669 units. The Ram brand overall grew 11% for the quarter and 15% year-to-date. Chrysler was the other standout. Pacifica sales hit 41,704 units, up 81% year-over-year, the brand’s highest quarterly total since Q3 2023. The refreshed 2027 Pacifica has begun shipping to dealers with new value pricing.

Jeep and Dodge drag

The gains came despite continued struggles at Stellantis’s two largest domestic brands. Jeep sales fell 5% in the quarter. Wrangler was down 12% and Grand Cherokee slipped 6%. The all-new Cherokee hybrid, which launched at the start of 2026, sold around 8,000 units in the quarter and more than 10,000 year-to-date, but has not yet moved in meaningful volume off dealer lots.

Dodge dropped 15% for the quarter. The gas-powered Charger posted a 404% jump to 2,911 units as buyers returned to the combustion version, but the electric Charger BEV fell 88% to just 294 units. Dodge Durango achieved its highest Q2 retail sales volume since 2021 but the overall brand still declined. Fiat and Alfa Romeo also fell sharply.

The bigger picture

Despite four straight quarters of growth, Stellantis has a long road ahead. Annual domestic sales have declined for seven straight years through 2025. The company had set a goal of 25% retail sales growth for the full year but has since backed off that target. CEO Antonio Filosa now says the aim is gradual quarter-over-quarter improvement, with new products doing the heavy lifting.

In May, Stellantis unveiled its FaSTLAne 2030 plan, a five-year strategy targeting 35% volume growth, 25% revenue growth, and a 50% increase in market coverage through 11 new North American models by 2030. Near-term momentum is expected to come from the Jeep Cherokee hybrid, the gas Dodge Charger, and the Ram Rumble Bee muscle truck, which is heading to dealerships now with 777 horsepower and a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI.

For dealers, the quarter reflects a brand portfolio that is still uneven. Ram and Chrysler are pulling their weight. Jeep and Dodge have not yet responded at the volume Stellantis needs them to.
