Jeep has reached a major production milestone with the 250,000th 2025 Wrangler 4xe Willys (finished in Black Clear Coat) rolling off the line at the Toledo Assembly Complex, the company announced yesterday.
The Wrangler 4xe, currently the best-selling plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in the United States, blends Jeep’s signature off-road capabilities with electrified performance. The model pairs a 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engine with two electric motors and a high-voltage battery, achieving 49 MPGe and up to 21 miles of electric-only range.
Production of the Wrangler 4xe began in December 2020 at the Toledo plant, which also builds internal combustion-powered Wrangler models. All Wrangler units sold globally are assembled in Toledo, Ohio, continuing an 80-year legacy for the facility.
According to the press release, Jeep brand CEO Bob Broderdorf said, “We’re thrilled to celebrate the production of the 250,000th Wrangler 4xe.” He added, “This milestone is a testament to our customers’ passion and the hard work of our Toledo team. Power of choice is a core part of the Wrangler experience.”
The achievement is also part of parent company Stellantis’ multi-energy product strategy, which supports a range of powertrain options across its brands. Further, Jeep’s electrification momentum continues with the Grand Cherokee 4xe, which recently surpassed 100,000 units built at the Detroit Assembly Complex since production began in August 2022. It is now the third-best-selling PHEV in the country.
“Toledo employees take great pride in being part of the history of this iconic vehicle,” said Trezelle Jenkins, plant manager at the Toledo Assembly Complex. “We are proud to be part of its continued evolution.”
Jeep has been ranked America’s Most Patriotic Brand by Brand Keys every year since 2001, further reinforcing its legacy in both innovation and tradition.
