Is AI about to change how dealerships use software?

Welcome back to the latest episode of The Future of Automotive on CBT News, where we put recent automotive and mobility news into the context of the broader themes impacting the industry.

I’m Steve Greenfield from Automotive Ventures, and I’m glad that you could join us.

A quick recap of what’s on my mind this week.

There’s little doubt that we’re in the midst of an AI-fueled investment bubble. The U.S. has never seen a boom like this one before. The global economy has no real experience with so much money being invested in just a single country, at such speed and scale, and with the potential to destroy so many well-paid, secure jobs. It’s uncertain how this will play out.

AI has democratized software development, which means that everyone can be a builder. The typical big American company today has hundreds, and perhaps thousands, of different pieces of software. Very often, the company doesn’t even know quite how much it has, what’s actually being used, and what it’s paying for. And yet, with all this software, the company is full of boring, repetitive tasks.

As I think about how this might play out, AI may collapse the number of apps we all use down to just one. In this scenario, the most important legacy software systems will still exist, but our interface will be through just one app that we use for pretty much everything.

But, as we’re all reading in the press, the existential threat of AI has reemerged, with discussion around if and how the large LLM companies should collaborate and how the U.S. government should get involved.

Finally, last week it was challenging to juxtapose President Trump on Friday proclaiming that he’s open to allowing Chinese automakers into the U.S., while earlier in the week Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy blasted Ford CEO Jim Farley’s disloyalty for his relationship with various Chinese entities.

May we all live in interesting times.

So, with that, let’s transition to Our Companies to Watch.

Every week we highlight interesting companies in the automotive technology space to keep an eye on. If you read my weekly Intel Report, we showcase a company to watch, and take the opportunity here on this segment each week to share that company with you.

Today, our new company to watch is WarrCloud.

WarrCloud is the industry leader and the first and only company to automate the manufacturer’s warranty claims process for automotive dealerships.

Warranty claims processing costs consume the auto dealer’s profits.

The WarrCloud AI platform transforms a dealership’s manual claims process into an efficient, automated system that reduces labor and process costs, accelerates reimbursements, and uncovers new revenue opportunities.

WarrCloud customers consistently achieve higher OEM Warranty Claim Scores.

With almost 1000 dealership customers, WarrCloud is the recipient of the 2025 Automotive News PACE Award for technological innovation, the 2024 PACE Pilot Award, the Navicon Cup Award, the Fixed Ops Roundtable Best Practice Award, and was named one of Inc. 5000’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies in 2025.

If you’d like to learn more about WarrCloud, you can check them out at: www.WarrCloud.com

So that’s it for this week’s Future of Automotive segment.

If you’re an AutoTech entrepreneur working on a solution that helps car dealerships, we want to hear from you. We are actively investing out of our new Mobility Fund.

Don’t forget to check out my two books, The Future of Automotive Retail and The Future of Mobility, both available on Amazon.com.

Thanks (as always) for your ongoing support and for tuning into CBT News for this week’s Future of Automotive segment. We’ll see you next week!
