Fisker Ocean owners face out-of-pocket costs for recalls amid company bankruptcy

The Fisker Ocean, subject to five recalls, includes three software-related issues that will be addressed through free over-the-air updates.
Fisker Ocean owners are facing challenges as the company revealed that some recall costs for the electric SUV, customers will cover

Fisker Ocean owners are facing additional challenges as the company revealed that some recall costs for the electric SUV will need to be covered by customers. The California-based automaker, currently undergoing bankruptcy proceedings, announced the news in a message sent to customers, as reported by Autoevolution.

The Fisker Ocean, subject to five recalls, includes three software-related issues that will be addressed through free over-the-air updates. However, the remaining two recalls involve hardware problems requiring physical repair at service centers. The issues include faulty outer door handles that may stick and fail to open and a malfunctioning cabin electric water pump that could result in a loss of drive power.

While Fisker will provide the necessary parts for these repairs at no cost, customers will be responsible for the labor fees, marking a significant burden for owners of the battery-powered SUV. This situation adds to the difficulties surrounding Fisker as the company navigates its financial troubles while attempting to resolve safety concerns for its vehicle owners.
