Cox Automotive to acquire Fullpath to expand AI-driven marketing, data capabilities

Deal integrates AI-native customer data tools into Cox Automotive’s retail ecosystem to enhance dealer performance and customer insights

Cox Automotive to acquire Fullpath to expand AI-driven marketing, data capabilities

On the Dash:

  • AI-driven data platforms will become central to dealership marketing and customer engagement strategies.
  • Unified data ecosystems can reduce inefficiencies and improve campaign performance.
  • Expect increased pressure to adopt integrated tech stacks as large providers scale AI capabilities.

Cox Automotive announced plans to acquire Fullpath, an AI-powered customer data and marketing platform to strengthen its dealer network across its retail platform.

The acquisition is designed to integrate Fullpath’s AI-native customer data and marketing infrastructure into Cox Automotive’s existing ecosystem, enabling dealers to better manage customer insights, personalize outreach, and improve overall marketing performance.

“Dealers today are navigating the most competitive and technology-intensive environment in the history of this industry,” said Steve Rowley, president of Cox Automotive. “This agreement supercharges our data and AI advantages and brings our dealers the most advanced technology inside of our industry-leading connected retail platform.”

Rowley added that Fullpath provides the AI and data infrastructure dealers need to compete more effectively, noting that the integration will enhance Cox Automotive’s existing tools and make them “smarter, faster, and more effective.”

Fullpath specializes in AI-powered customer data platforms, marketing automation, and predictive analytics tailored for automotive retailers. Its technology helps dealerships unify fragmented data sources and activate that information in real time across marketing channels.

By incorporating these capabilities, Cox Automotive aims to enhance its suite of tools, including CRM and retail solutions, while improving customer lifecycle management and targeting.

As marketing environments become more fragmented, demand has grown for solutions that centralize data and automate engagement strategies.

Once completed, the combined platform is expected to be deployed across one of the largest dealer networks in the automotive industry. The integration is intended to improve operational efficiency, increase marketing precision, and deliver stronger returns on investment for dealers.

The acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions. Cox Automotive plans to continue investing in AI and data infrastructure as part of its broader strategy to enhance retail performance and customer engagement across its platform.
