Earlier today, Cadillac introduced the 2026 OPTIQ-V, a bold new entry in its fifth-generation V-Series lineup. Engineered for high-performance driving, the electric SUV will deliver an estimated 519 horsepower, a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds, and marks General Motors’ first vehicle equipped with a native North American Charging Standard (NACS) port.

Production is set to begin in fall 2025, with sales planned for the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the Middle East, and Israel. The OPTIQ-V is expected to have a starting MSRP of $68,795.

The Velocity Max feature unlocks the SUV’s full performance capabilities, offering 650 lb-ft of torque and instant acceleration. Launch Control and Competitive Mode further enhance straight-line speed and agility, while standard Brembo front brake calipers and dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) help deliver responsive handling.

OPTIQ-V will include an 85-kWh battery, providing an estimated 275 miles of range. Fast-charging capabilities include up to 70 miles of charge in 10 minutes via DC charging. Standard home charging equipment allows up to 31 miles of range per hour with an optional 19.2-kW setup.

This model also represents a technological milestone for GM, as the first to feature a native NACS charging port—a move aimed at simplifying the EV experience and expanding access to North America’s growing charging infrastructure.

“Integrating the native NACS port into our vehicle architecture is an important step forward,” said John Cockburn, OPTIQ-V chief engineer. “It reflects our leadership in engineering and our commitment to providing more charging options.”

On the exterior, the OPTIQ-V boasts a signature V-Series aesthetic with carbon fiber accents, satin graphite 21-inch wheels, and new limited-edition colors like Magnus Metal Frost and Deep Ocean Tintcoat. Blue detailing throughout, including optional royal blue Brembo brake calipers and precision-patterned rear quarter windows, pays homage to the V-Series’ performance heritage.

The interior strikes a balance between sport and luxury, featuring two performance-inspired palettes: Noir with Santorini Blue accents and Noir paired with Sky Cool Gray and Santorini Blue accents. Genuine woven carbon fiber décor, ambient lighting tied to drive modes, and a 33-inch LED display create a futuristic and premium cabin experience.

Additional features include:

  • Super Cruise hands-free driving with three years of OnStar connectivity
  • AKG 19-speaker audio system with Dolby Atmos
  • V-Mode for customized performance profiles
  • Adaptive cruise control, Blind Zone Steering Assist, Enhanced Automatic Parking, and more advanced safety systems
  • Google built-in infotainment with Maps and Assistant integration

Cadillac says the OPTIQ-V was engineered for driving enthusiasts, blending the brand’s isolated precision ride quality with track-worthy handling. “With tighter steering, enhanced suspension, and summer-only tires, our team delivered a unique package that makes OPTIQ-V a nimble, thrilling drive,” said Cockburn.

The new V-Series electric SUV continues Cadillac’s legacy of performance while accelerating its transition into the EV era.
