On the Dash:

  • Ford lowers 2026 F-150 Lightning prices by up to $4,000 and boosts range to sustain sales after the federal EV tax credit ends.
  • The Lightning outsold Tesla’s Cybertruck in Q3 2025, selling over 10,000 units compared with 5,400 Cybertrucks.
  • Ford offers state and manufacturer incentives, including up to $11,500 in savings and 0% APR financing, to maintain competitiveness.

Ford is reducing prices on its 2026 F-150 Lightning electric pickup by up to $4,000 and increasing driving range as it adjusts to the expiration of the $7,500 federal EV tax credit. The automaker introduced a new base STX trim with increased range and enhanced features to keep the Lightning competitive in the U.S. electric pickup market.

The price cuts come as Ford aims to maintain momentum in electric pickup sales. In the third quarter of 2025, Ford sold more than 10,000 Lightnings, nearly double the roughly 5,400 Tesla Cybertrucks sold during the same period.

For 2026, the F-150 Lightning STX starts at $63,345, matching the previous model year price but offering 50 more miles of range from its 123 kWh extended battery, up from 240 miles for the prior XLT trim. The Flash trim drops from $69,995 to $65,995, while the Lariat and Platinum trims are priced from $74,995 and $84,995, respectively. Ford also added off-road features from other F-150 models, including running boards and new wheels.

Although Ford did not pursue a program to extend the federal EV tax credit, it continues to offer state and manufacturer incentives. In California and other zero-emission vehicle states, buyers can receive up to $11,500 in savings, including a $9,000 lease cash bonus and a $2,000 Power Promise cash incentive. Nationwide, Ford offers 0% APR financing for 72 months plus a $2,000 Power Promise bonus.
