In Wentzville, GM will invest around $157 million to modernize the paint shop. This project includes the installation of new paint processing equipment, a 28,000-square-foot expansion, and the refurbishment of existing infrastructure. The Wentzville facility manufactures the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Chevrolet Express, and GMC Savana, employing more than 4,000 workers.

In the Spring Hill complex, the automaker will invest more than $275 million, with over $150 million dedicated to supporting Cadillac XT6 production and an additional $125 million focused on the future of the 2.7-liter engine program. The Spring Hill Assembly will evolve into a five-vehicle manufacturing operation.

Mike Trevorrow, a General Motors executive, said these investments are aimed at creating flexible manufacturing sites that can adapt to current demand, support future launches, and support long-term production growth. Wentzville Mayor Nick Guccione also emphasized the automaker’s ongoing commitment to the community and the regional economy.

Ultimately, these combined investments demonstrate GM’s strategy of modernizing U.S. facilities while preparing plants for future vehicle programs and enhancing production flexibility.
