Chevrolet will introduce the Trail Boss off-road trim to its 2026 Silverado EV lineup starting this summer, combining the rugged capability of the popular Trail Boss with the advantages of an electric truck.

The Trail Boss trim, previously available on Silverado and Colorado gasoline models, offers customers a lifted off-road experience with a 2-inch suspension lift and 24% higher ground clearance than the base Silverado EV. The trim also features a coil suspension tuned with hydraulic rebound control and exclusive Terrain mode, which enhances low-speed control on uneven surfaces by sharpening 4-wheel Steer responsiveness.

Additionally, the Silverado EV Trail Boss includes Sidewinder mode, first seen on RST trims, allowing all four wheels to turn in the same direction for diagonal movement, helping drivers easily maneuver tight spots and rugged terrain.

Performance-wise, the Trail Boss with the extended range battery offers up to 410 miles of EPA-estimated range, 12,500 pounds max towing capacity, and 2,100 pounds of payload. The Max Range battery variant boosts output to 725 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque.

Visually, the Trail Boss stands out with a high-angle approach front fascia, rugged 35-inch all-terrain tires on unique 18-inch wheels, red front tow hooks, distinctive badging, and a specialized interior. Auxiliary switches are included for easy accessory customization.

Chevrolet’s broader 2026 Silverado EV lineup includes three trims—Work Truck, LT, and Trail Boss, with starting prices ranging from $54,895 to $88,695. The brand will discontinue the RST trim this year. Features across trims include up to 10.2kW off-board power, Multi-Flex Midgate on LT and Trail Boss, and a 17.7-inch infotainment screen standard even on the Work Truck trim.

On the technology front, the Silverado EV also upgrades its Super Cruise driver-assist system with Google Maps integration, hands-on lane centering, and adaptive cruise control that adjusts to posted speed limits. Super Cruise with towing capability is available on LT and Trail Boss trims.

The Silverado EV is assembled at GM’s Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center in Michigan, which supports the company’s all-electric vehicle strategy.

Chevrolet’s addition of the Trail Boss trim to the Silverado EV lineup underscores the brand’s commitment to blending traditional truck capability with cutting-edge electric vehicle technology to meet diverse customer needs in 2026 and beyond.
