Stellantis offers home charging unit or $600 credits with new EVs

The home charging package includes a Level 2 charging unit, also valued at $600, with buyers responsible for the installation cost.
As Stellantis prepares to launch new electric vehicle models this year, the automaker is offering buyers a home charging unit or $600.

As Stellantis prepares to launch several new electric vehicle models this year, the automaker is offering buyers a choice between a home charging unit or $600 worth of charging credits as part of their purchase. This incentive aims to simplify the transition to electric vehicles for Jeep, Ram, Chrysler, Dodge, and Fiat customers.

The home charging package includes a Level 2 charging unit, also valued at $600, with buyers responsible for the installation cost. Stellantis’ preferred installer, Qmerit, headquartered in Irvine, California, estimates the national average cost for installation to be between $1,700 and $1,800. Qmerit provides a commitment-free estimate based on customer-provided information and photos, but the price may vary depending on specific needs.

Among Stellantis’s upcoming electric vehicle models is the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S, which will be available in the United States starting in the fall at a base price of $71,995, including destination fees. Stellantis announced that buyers of the company’s EVs could choose either $600 in charging credits or a home charging unit with their purchase.

Additionally, Stellantis is launching the Free2move Charge website and app to assist customers in navigating the buying process and exploring charging options. The charging credits can be used at public charging stations (DC and Level 2 chargers) nationwide.

Stellantis’ initial EV offerings in the United States will include the 2024 Fiat 500e, 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona, 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S, 2025 Jeep Recon, and 2025 Ram 1500 REV pickup.

“As we introduce our all-electric vehicles this year in the U.S., we want to ensure that our customers easily understand the charging options available to them before or upon purchase,” Mathilde Lheureux, head of the company’s energy and charge business unit, said in the release.

The company also noted that its Stellantis EVs and plug-in hybrid models are equipped with the J1772 charging port. Stellantis plans to adopt the upcoming SAE J3400 charging connector, the system used by Tesla, starting with select EVs launching for the 2026 model year.
