On Thursday, luxury automaker Genesis unveiled the updated Electrified G80 at the Busan International Mobility Show (BIMOS), showcasing a blend of luxury and cutting-edge technology. The new model features a larger battery for extended range and several design enhancements, setting a new standard in the luxury EV market.

Three years after its global debut, the Genesis Electrified G80 received its first major update. The new version, showcased for the first time in Korea at BIMOS 2024, has interior and exterior upgrades. Notably, the midsize luxury electric sedan now boasts a larger battery, increasing its range to 295 miles (475 km) by Korean standards, likely extending a few miles beyond its current EPA-estimated 282-mile range in the U.S.

One of the standout design changes is the three-dimensional crest grille at the front, accompanied by MLA tech integrated into Genesis’ signature two-line headlamps. The new model also sports a slightly redesigned bumper and newly designed 19″ wheels that complement Genesis’ iconic parabolic lines. The longer wheelbase provides a roomier second row, enhancing passenger comfort.

Inside, the Electrified G80 features a combined 27″ display for the cluster and infotainment system. Mood lamps with improved brightness and a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system elevate the luxury experience. The updated model also includes several new features, such as an EasyClose system that allows doors to close at the push of a button, reclining VIP seats with leg rests, and a rear window curtain for added privacy.

The new Genesis Electrified G80 will launch in Korea in August, with plans to roll out across Europe and North America shortly after that. The larger Neolun concept, which previews Genesis’ first full-size electric SUV, was displayed alongside the new model. This model features a larger battery pack (95.4 kWh compared to the previous 87.2 kWh).
