Honda reveals innovative 0 Series EV concepts at CES

Honda also revealed a redesigned "H" logo, exclusive to its next-generation EVs.
Later in the decade, Honda plans to equip these vehicles with automated driving capabilities by leveraging artificial intelligence.

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 in Las Vegas, Honda unveiled two innovative, electric concept cars as part of its “0 Series.” Set to debut in North America in 2026, the 0 Series will utilize advanced driver-assistive systems linked to Honda’s Sensing Elite software.

The “Saloon” is the flagship of the 0 Series, and features a design focused on maximizing space and efficiency. The vehicle has a low, wide exterior and spacious interior.

Meanwhile, the “Space-Hub” aims to enhance daily life with its spacious and versatile cabin. Both models reflect a shift towards lighter EV designs, departing from the trend of bulkier bodies.

In addition to the vehicles, Honda revealed a redesigned “H” logo, exclusive to its next-generation EVs.

“We have gone back to basics and formulated the Honda 0 Series with a design for the new era,” said Shinji Aoyama, Global EVP of Honda in a statement. “A bold and pure proportion that from the first glance is overwhelmingly different from other EVs to evoke a new perspective for people.”

Later in the decade, Honda plans to equip these vehicles with automated driving capabilities by leveraging artificial intelligence.

These models will also incorporate advanced aerodynamic technologies, in an effort to improve estimated driving ranges.

Around the same time, Honda anticipates vital advancements in battery technology for the 0 Series. These improvements include rapid charging capabilities, reducing the time to charge from 15% to 80% to approximately 15 minutes, and minimizing battery degradation to less than 10% over a decade.

With several EVs, including the Prologue SUV built on GM’s Ultium platform, and partnerships for establishing local EV charging networks, Honda is positioning itself as a formidable player in the evolving EV market, despite being ‘late to the party.’
