How to position your fixed ops department for maximum success in 2021 – Ted Ings, Fixed Ops Roundtable

Fixed-ops practices in 2021 look a lot different than they ever have before. Here to talk about the fixed ops strategies that have evolved since the start of the pandemic is Ted Ings, Executive Director of the Center for Performance Improvement and host of the Fixed Ops Roundtable, a virtual event that kicks off today. The roundtable discussions are set to feature many automotive experts this February 9-11.

According to Ings, changes that more than likely would have organically happened in the next five to ten years were compressed into 12 months. The same can be said for fixed operations. Innovative dealers like Brian Benstock were doing service pickup and delivery early-on and outthinking other dealers. However, now these services have become essential for all dealers to have.

Customers like this new way of doing business. The genie will not be going back into the bottle, so to speak. The customer experience has to be easy, convenient, and reliable. There was no rulebook available on how to adjust to a global pandemic. Many dealers and fixed-ops directors had to embrace some of the new ideas that stemmed largely from customer desires and expectations. Fixed-ops is in many ways, is becoming the front of the store.

That’s why Ings believes that the Fixed Ops Roundtable event is so important for dealers to attend. Participants can expect new and fresh ideas from their peers in bite-size segments. In fact, the event will feature 16 keynote speakers, over 100 speaker participants, 15 panels, and three super panels including a panel dedicated to diversity, inclusion, and equity, lead by TrueCar’s Kerri Wise. Additionally, the last day of the event, Thursday, February 11 features the one and only Jay Leno as the headline speaker.

There’s still time to register, you won’t want to miss out!
