Greensboro, NC — On the eve of a landmark investment by Toyota in the United States, Toyota of Greensboro proudly welcomed Ted Ogawa, president and CEO of Toyota Motor North America. Mr. Ogawa will visit the Toyota of Greensboro campus to tour the Toyota Team Member Delivery Center – the first in the world – and experience the mobile service truck dedicated to Toyota team members and their families, highlighting the dealership’s deep commitment to workforce mobility programs.
Toyota of Greensboro’s Team Member Delivery Center, located across from the main dealership, offers a private experience for Toyota associates, including TBMNC team members and their families, to take delivery of their new corporate lease vehicles. The addition of a dedicated Japanese-speaking staff member ensures that even team members from overseas feel supported. The center is equipped with a newly opened 10-bay service shop and touchless car wash, ensuring an efficient service experience.
The custom-built mobile service truck brings maintenance and light repair services directly to Toyota team members’ workplaces. The program is designed to make vehicle ownership easier for the thousands of employees who will soon power the TBMNC facility, aligning with Toyota’s mission of mobility for all and providing a level of convenience rarely seen in the automotive retail space. The vehicle will be showcased during Mr. Ogawa’s visit, highlighting Toyota of Greensboro’s innovation in customer care and its commitment to serving the growing manufacturing community.
Toyota of Greensboro is participating in both the VSPP (Toyota Vehicle Special Purchase Program) and the T-Drive program, Toyota-sponsored initiatives designed to provide manufacturing and team-member associates and with reliable, safe and affordable transportation through various purchase incentives. These programs play a critical role in supporting workforce stability and enabling individual mobility.
The visit also celebrates Toyota of Greensboro’s 60th anniversary, one of the nation’s first Toyota dealerships, bringing the company’s story full circle as leaders meet in North Carolina before the $13.9 billion battery plant opening.
“It’s an incredible honor to welcome Mr. Ogawa and Toyota leadership to Greensboro,” said Mary Rice, Dealer Principal of Toyota of Greensboro. “This moment connects our dealership’s 60-year history with Toyota’s next 60 years of innovation, right here in North Carolina.”
Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC), represents Toyota’s first hybrid and BEV battery factory outside Japan, located at the Greensboro-Randolph megasite. The plant will create approximately 5,100 jobs and employ a total investment of $13.9 billion.
