Ford Motor announced that its new global headquarters, the Henry Ford II World Center, will officially open this November.

On the Dash:

  • The Henry Ford II World Center at Dearborn consolidates design, engineering, and corporate leadership to foster collaboration and accelerate innovation.
  • The new HQ is twice the size of the Glass House, accommodates up to 4,000 employees, and is part of a broader effort to provide state-of-the-art facilities and technology.
  • Ford will decommission and demolish the Glass House, repurpose the site with the City of Dearborn, and open the new HQ for employee and public tours starting in November 2025.

Ford Motor announced on Sept. 12 that its new global headquarters, the Henry Ford II World Center, will officially open this November at the reimagined Dearborn product development campus. Ford’s advanced facility is part of the Ford+ transformation and consolidates design, engineering, and corporate leadership under one roof.

The new headquarters is twice the size of Ford’s historic Glass House and can accommodate up to 4,000 employees, with a total of 14,000 team members located within a 15-minute walk of the building. Hundreds of employees are already working in parts of the facility, which will be mostly complete by the end of 2025, with final sections finished by 2027.

Bill Ford and CEO Jim Farley describe the headquarters as more than a building, describing it as a “catalyst for innovation” and a physical symbol of Ford’s transformation. “To win in this new era, we must work more closely together than ever before,” they wrote in a letter to employees.

The new campus is intended to foster collaboration and accelerate problem-solving across engineering, design, and technology teams. It also reflects Ford’s broader global investment in modern workspaces, technology, and tools for employees, complementing dealer investments in retail and service locations worldwide.

The Glass House, which has served as Ford’s HQ for nearly 70 years, will be decommissioned and demolished over roughly 18 months. Ford is working with the City of Dearborn to repurpose the site for employees and the surrounding community.

In addition to employee access, the new headquarters will be open for public tours, allowing neighbors and community members to experience the facility. Ford leaders emphasized that the headquarters represents not just a facility upgrade but a step toward building the “next generation of Ford.”
