AutoVision launches AI-powered monthly used vehicle activity tracker

AutoVision positions the monthly report as a national baseline, with its AI tools offering dealers a more actionable, real-time view at the local level

AutoVision launches new AI-powered monthly used vehicle report

On the Dash:

  • AutoVision’s new monthly report covers roughly 95% of used-vehicle activity nationwide, tracking every VIN as it enters, sells and shifts in price.
  • The inaugural edition sets a baseline, with future reports measuring trend lines against these numbers month over month.
  • Early data shows Ford and older trucks leading volume, while Mazda, Tesla and Lamborghini top their tiers on sell speed.

AutoVision has launched a new AI-powered monthly report tracking used vehicle activity nationwide. The report covers a 30-day window running from the 10th of the previous month through the 9th of the current one. AutoVision is targeting publication by the 15th of each month.

The inaugural report draws on roughly 95% of used-vehicle activity at dealerships with a website across the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. AutoVision uses AI to track individual VINs as they enter the market, sell and shift in price. Because this is the first edition, it establishes a baseline rather than a trend line. Future reports will measure movement against these numbers.

The report tracks six categories each month: the top 10 used vehicles entering the market, the top 10 sold in the last month, the top 10 fastest selling, the top 5 average market price increases over the previous month’s average, and the top 5 most sold and fastest selling brands across the mainstream, premium and ultra premium tiers.

What AutoVision’s July-Aug. report found

Older trucks continue to define the top end of the used market. The Ford F-150 accounted for most of the sales in the 7-11 and 12+ year old age groups last month:

  • 2018 Ford F-150 (7-11 years): 4,094 sold
  • 2019 Ford F-150 (7-11 years): 3,633 sold
  • 2020 Ford F-150 (7-11 years): 2,943 sold
  • 2013 Ford F-150 (12+ years): 1,845 sold
  • 2014 Ford F-150 (12+ years): 1,790 sold

Newer age groups show more balance, with cars and SUVs like the Toyota Camry and Nissan Rogue mixing in alongside pickups.

Ford also leads at the brand level, topping mainstream used sales last month:

  • Ford: 164,300 units sold
  • Chevrolet: 149,861
  • Toyota: 125,131
  • Honda: 93,890
  • Nissan: 81,901

On speed, three different brands led their tiers:

  • Mazda: fastest-selling mainstream brand (62.79 average days to sell)
  • Tesla: fastest-selling premium brand (52.66 average days to sell)
  • Lamborghini: fastest-selling ultra-premium brand (92.71 average days to sell), edging out Ferrari despite lower total volume

Electric and hybrid vehicles moved quickly where they appeared, though they remain a small slice of the overall picture. In the 4-6 year old age group, two Tesla models took the top two spots for fastest-selling vehicles:

  • 2023 Tesla Model 3: 31.73 average days to sell
  • 2023 Tesla Model Y: 36.65 average days to sell

In the 1-3 year old group, only two electrified models cracked the fastest-selling Top 10:

  • 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid: 37.98 average days to sell
  • 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid: 40.43 average days to sell

AutoVision frames the report as a national, high-altitude view rather than a real-time read on any single market. The company’s AI tools provide the same data broken down to the local level in real time. AutoVision positions this as the more actionable resource for dealers making day-to-day buying and pricing decisions.
