Ford’s luxury brand, Lincoln, will import the hybrid Corsair crossover from China for U.S. customers. According to the automaker, orders are now open, deliveries are expected to begin early next year, and the 2027 Corsair has a starting price of $46,495, excluding delivery charges.
Ford halted Corsair production at the Louisville Assembly Plant in December as the facility undergoes retooling for the Fathom electric midsize pickup. Despite the pause, Lincoln emphasizes the Corsair’s importance, noting it was the brand’s second-best-selling model last year.
Additionally, Lincoln previously announced plans to phase out vehicles built in China for the U.S. market, but the brand still intends to expand production in the U.S. beginning in 2030. Although the automaker has not yet revealed which U.S. plants or models will contribute to that expansion, the China-built Corsair will likely face a tariff of approximately 52.5%, similar to the China-built Lincoln Nautilus. Ford has cited these tariffs as a major reason for its strategy to reduce reliance on Chinese production, though the automaker is balancing those costs against the need to keep products available in key segments.
The Corsair will feature a new 2.0-liter turbocharged hybrid powertrain with all-wheel drive, delivering 305 horsepower. It will come standard with BlueCruise 1.5, which includes automatic lane changes. Lincoln has also introduced new exterior and interior updates, five new paint colors, and two trims: Premiere and Reserve.
The return of the Corsair gives dealers an additional vehicle in a segment crucial to Lincoln’s sales. Still, the model’s sourcing from China could create pricing and inventory challenges as tariffs remain high, and Ford’s planned expansion of U.S. manufacturing could eventually reshape Lincoln’s product availability and distribution.
