Volkswagen debuts redesigned ID. Polo interior

Volkswagen debuts ID. Polo with redesigned interior, upgraded infotainment, physical controls, and advanced EV software this spring.

On the Dash:

  • The ID. Polo features a fully redesigned EV interior with touchscreen, physical buttons, and a retro display mode.
  • Volkswagen includes advanced software like Travel Assist and interactive ID. Light in the new cabin.
  • The ID. Polo starts at $29,500, offers three power outputs, and provides up to 280 miles of WLTP range.

Volkswagen is introducing a completely redesigned interior for its upcoming entry-level electric vehicles, starting with the ID. Polo. The new cabin combines modern technology with tactile controls to enhance the driving experience.

The ID. Polo will feature a 10.25-inch driver display and a 13-inch touchscreen for navigation and infotainment. Physical buttons for climate control and hazard lights sit below the screen, while a multi-function steering wheel and a rotary audio controller provide additional control.

Volkswagen’s latest software powers features such as third-generation Travel Assist, which can soon detect stop signs and red traffic lights. Drivers can also switch the digital cockpit into a retro mode inspired by the original 1980s Golf.

Although the electric Polo’s exterior dimensions are similar to the gas-powered model, compact drive modules and a flat battery pack create more interior room. A new ID. Light strip now stretches across the dashboard, windscreen base, and front doors to improve visibility and add style.

The ID. Polo will start at $29,500 and offer three power options: 85 kW (114 hp), 99 kW (133 hp), and 155 kW (208 hp). Smaller models use a 37 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, while the 155 kW variant includes a 52 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery, delivering up to 280 miles of WLTP range.

Volkswagen plans to extend this interior design across all four of its new entry-level EVs. The updates reflect driver feedback and aim to combine clean lines, intuitive controls, and high-quality materials across the lineup.

The ID. Polo represents Volkswagen’s effort to make affordable electric vehicles more functional, user-friendly, and appealing for a larger audience.
