Dale Pollak of Cox Automotive to step down at the end of 2025

After nearly 50 years in the automotive industry, Dale Pollak, the executive vice president and founder of vAuto, announced today that he will be stepping down from Cox Automotive at the end of 2025. Over the next year, he will focus on transitioning important customer relationships and sharing his industry expertise, which includes continuing his work with the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA).

In January 2025, Pollak will attend his 56th NADA Show, where he’ll also unveil his seventh book, Invested: The New Science, Strategy & System of Used Vehicle Investment Management.

Pollak’s journey in the automotive world began in 2004 when he founded vAuto, a company that transformed how dealerships manage their inventories. His visionary approach caught the attention of Cox Automotive, who acquired vAuto in 2010. Since then, Pollak has played a crucial role in shaping the company’s inventory management strategies, becoming a respected leader known for blending technology with practical solutions that benefit dealerships nationwide.

In addition to his books, Pollak’s thought leadership and unique insights have left an indelible mark on the automotive industry. Pollak’s legacy in the industry is one of innovation, leadership, and a deep commitment to helping dealers succeed.
