With Thanksgiving rapidly approaching, the Columbia Gorge Toyota and Honda dealerships utilized social media to promote their third annual Turkey Trot 5K Benefit Walk/Run by sharing a humorous TikTok video that has captured the community’s hearts.

Matthew Ryan Thompson, who was featured in the TikTok video, came up with the concept back in 2021, and it has since made a comeback. “Our goal was to showcase the run entertainingly since It’s a relaxed, family-friendly occasion. To participate, you don’t even need to be a runner,” said Rachel Carter, marketing director of Columbia Gorge Toyota

The dealerships invite everyone to the Lewis and Clark Festival Park on November 23 from 8 to 10 AM.

The event aims to raise funds for The Next Door, which offers more than twenty programs that empower and assist people in the community. Everyone is welcome to participate in the Turkey Trot, including families, children, strollers, and furry friends. Human and canine participants are encouraged to dress up for the event’s costume contest, where awards will be given to the top three finishers.

In the spirit of giving back, 100% of the proceeds will benefit The Next Door, and the dealerships have pledged to match every dollar raised beyond the $5,000 mark.

The last day to pre-order tickets is November 22. Register here.
