A Pennsylvania Subaru dealership has donated school supplies to teachers at Central Mountain High School in partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org.

As reported in The Express, the Blaise Alexander Subaru dealership furnished 15 boxes of school supplies and $500 checks for teacher recipients to purchase their own materials. The dealership sourced donations from customers, who used a QR code to navigate to the AdoptAClassroom.org portal and select the items they wished to give to teachers. Car buyers also submitted encouraging notes to the educators, one of which read, “Teachers change lives!”

Central Mountain High School will distribute the 15 boxes to classrooms based on a list of students’ favorite teachers. “We want to give these boxes to the 15 most deserving teachers,” noted the school’s principal Nick Verrelli. “Not that other people don’t deserve it, but there’s some teachers out there that are going above and beyond.” Dave Kelly, general manager of the donating Subaru dealership, was responsible for delivering the boxes to students and staff members. “The average teacher spends over $1,000 out of their own pocket to supply their classroom,” he noted. “It’s amazing. This will hopefully make a difference.”

The generous offer supplied by the Blaise Alexander Subaru dealership and the AdoptAClassroom organization has proved once more that the retail automotive sector is an integral pillar of community health. Many retailers launch their own independent charities and donation drives to support their neighborhoods. Car manufacturers can help such charitable efforts have an even greater impact. Subaru of America is one of several brands doing just that through its Subaru Love program, which partners with storefronts to organize and donate to local causes. With the holiday season approaching and many families struggling due to economic headwinds, there is no better time for dealers to raise or save money to help those in need.
