American Honda posted its best July since 2019, with total sales climbing 12.8% to 136,549 units, the company announced on Monday. The results were driven by a lineup of affordable passenger cars and SUVs across both the Honda and Acura brands.
Year to date, American Honda sales are up 3.9% to 893,469 units, with passenger car sales up 16.9% to 285,388 and light truck sales down 1.3% to 608,081.

Odyssey and Ridgeline both declined, and Prologue’s steep drop reflects Honda’s move to wind down the EV. Total electrified vehicle sales across both brands, which include hybrids, EVs and fuel cell models, slipped 1.4% year over year to 38,169 units as a result.
Acura has best July in 3 years
Acura sales rose 18.9% in July to 11,996 units, its best July since 2023, and are up 4.1% year to date to 81,711 units. SUV sales reached 9,618 units, up 21.6%, led by the MDX.

Honda’s hybrid strength this July puts it in the same lane as its Korean rivals. Hyundai and Kia posted a combined 165,284 U.S. sales in July, a company record for both brands and up 5% year over year, with hybrid sales surging 52.2% to 43,727 units even as their EV sales dropped 40.5%. Kia’s hybrid sales alone jumped 76.6% in July. Honda’s 36,609 hybrid units and its 35.7% jump in passenger car sales mirror that same trade, hybrid demand climbing while EV volume slides.
