2024 marks ‘Year of More’ for EVs despite slow growth, according to Autotrader

The editorial team at Autotrader evaluated the 2024 model-year electric cars in various aspects, including powertrains, features, and prices.

According to analysts at Cox Automotive, electric vehicle (EV) sales in the United States are experiencing slower growth this year but growth nonetheless. EVs have evolved from a niche market to a significant segment of the auto industry. Cox Automotive’s Director of Industry Insights, Stephanie Valdez Streaty, predicts 2024 as “the Year of More,” with increased products, incentives, leasing options, and infrastructure driving higher EV sales.

Reflecting this abundance, Autotrader’s list of the best EVs of 2024 includes both new and returning models, showcasing the evolution and improvement of electric vehicles. The editorial team at Autotrader evaluated the 2024 model-year electric cars in various aspects, including interiors, exteriors, powertrains, features, comfort, and prices. Only pure EVs with a base MSRP below $100,000 and availability in at least 15 states were considered.
