Toyota recalls 145,000 Grand Highlander and Lexus TX vehicles over airbag deployment issues

To check if your vehicle is involved in this recall, visit Toyota.com/recall or nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Toyota has announced a noncompliance safety recall affecting approximately 145,000 model year 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander and Lexus TX vehicles in the U.S.

The recall addresses a critical issue with the curtain shield airbag on the driver’s side. If the driver’s window is rolled down, the airbag may not deploy as intended during certain crashes, potentially failing to meet federal safety standards and increasing the risk of injury.

Toyota is actively developing a remedy for this issue. Affected customers will be notified by mid-August 2024.

To check if your vehicle is involved in this recall, visit Toyota.com/recall or nhtsa.gov/recalls and enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or license plate information.

For additional questions, Toyota owners can contact the Toyota Brand Engagement Center at 1-800-331-4331, and Lexus owners can contact the Lexus Brand Engagement Center at 1-800-255-3987.
