As Stellantis looks to revitalize a commercial segment that contributed to a 12% drop in U.S. vehicle sales in the first quarter, the Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram automaker has appointed former AutoNation executive Michael Ferreira as senior vice president of U.S. fleet sales.
The move, effective immediately, marks a major shift aimed at separating retail and fleet operations, which had previously both been overseen by longtime executive Jeff Kommor. Kommor will now refocus on U.S. retail sales, which have recently improved due to Stellantis’ aggressive pricing, incentives, and advertising efforts.
Ferreira, who most recently served as vice president of corporate mobility at AutoNation, brings decades of experience in fleet management. His background includes leadership positions at Hertz and Octo Telematics, as well as launching startup ventures focused on fleet solutions and connected vehicle technology.
“Michael brings a breadth of experience that has made him a recognized leader within the fleet sector and the entire automotive industry,” said Antonio Filosa, chief operating officer for the Americas, in a statement. “We are looking forward to strengthening our commercial business with a dedicated leader with exceptional skills in enhancing customer experience through connected vehicles and digital solutions.”
With retail momentum returning, Stellantis said the reshaped sales leadership team signals “a renewed focus on commercial and fleet customers” as it works to stabilize its U.S. sales performance across all channels.
