Rivian revives ‘all-electric upgrade’ offer with new terms until November 30

EV startup Rivian is reintroducing its “All-Electric Upgrade Offer,” which runs from now until November 30.

EV startup Rivian is reintroducing its “All-Electric Upgrade Offer,” which runs from now until November 30. However, several key changes have been made to streamline the process for customers interested in transitioning to electric vehicles. This initiative aims to encourage drivers of gas-powered vehicles to switch to Rivian’s innovative all-electric models, including the R1T and R1S.

The revised offer, available from October 31 to November 30 through the R1 Shop, presents a simpler approach compared to earlier versions and encourages gas vehicle owners to transition to electric vehicles (EVs). Previously, the EV maker provided discounts ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 for consumers who traded in an old gas-powered car between April and June.

Unlike the previous promotion, the new offer applies a flat $3,000 discount ($4,100 CAD in Canada) across eligible purchases. This time, Rivian has made the process clearer and more inclusive by eliminating the trade-in requirement and expanding eligibility to all gas or hybrid vehicle owners who can show proof of ownership, such as a vehicle registration or insurance documentation. This accessibility broadens the potential customer base, encouraging more individuals to consider Rivian’s electric options.

However, the revised offer does come with certain restrictions. For instance, the discount applies exclusively to new inventory vehicles purchased from the R1 Shop, excluding demo vehicles, pre-owned vehicles, or custom builds. Additionally, the base Dual Standard models from Rivian are not eligible for this promotion. Customers must place their orders by November 30 and ensure delivery before December 31 to qualify for the discount.

As the automotive industry continues to shift towards electrification, initiatives like Rivian’s upgrade offer highlight the growing recognition of EVs as a viable alternative to traditional gas-powered cars. With an increasing number of consumers looking to reduce their carbon footprint, Rivian’s strategy may attract more buyers eager to embrace the future of transportation. For complete details and eligibility requirements for the All-Electric Upgrade Offer, customers can visit Rivian’s official website.
