Honda and Stellantis recall thousands of vehicles due to potential safety risks

The automakers plan to contact affected owners on their recall.
According to notices, Honda and Stellantis issued a recall for more than 300,000 Accords, HR-V, and hybrid Jeep Wrangler SUVs.

According to notices published by the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration, Honda and Stellantis issued a recall for more than 300,000 Accords, HR-V, and hybrid Jeep Wrangler SUVs

Honda attributed the issue to an assembly error, affecting more than 300,000 2023-2024 Accord and HR-V vehicles. The error results in a missing component in the front seat belt pre-tensioners, increasing the possibility of collision-related injuries.

For customers affected, dealers will examine all vehicles and potentially replace the seat belt pre-tensioner assembly at no cost. Those who had paid for these repairs out of pocket may also be reimbursed. Beginning on January 8, 2024, registered owners will receive notification letters in the mail. Moreover, dealers will have replacement parts available by the end of the month. Still, customers can get their cars inspected immediately by visiting an authorized Honda dealer.

Stellanis’ recall, however, covers over 32,000 hybrid 2021-2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe SUVs due to possible fire hazards during the SUV’s charging process. According to the automaker, the company concluded a standard internal inquiry based on an examination of customer data, which revealed that eight Jeep Wrangler SUVs caught fire while parked and switched off. Furthermore, the automaker encourages customers to continue driving their vehicles, but they should avoid charging and keep them away from structures or buildings.

The automaker intends to contact affected owners on their recall.
