The Detroit automaker, General Motors (GM), has recently promoted Mike Trevorrow to Senior Vice President of Global Manufacturing, effective immediately, expanding his leadership responsibilities across the automaker’s worldwide production network.
With more than two decades at the company, Trevorrow will oversee more than 95,000 team members at 110 sites across 11 countries and four continents. He will report directly to GM President Mark Reuss.
Trevorrow’s appointment aims to strengthen the alignment between manufacturing and the product development lifecycle, enabling GM to accelerate its shift toward software-defined vehicles and support the company’s broader innovation strategy.
According to the automaker’s press release, GM president Mark Reuss said, “Mike’s extensive experience in manufacturing operations and engineering, along with his steady leadership, make him the right choice to lead our global manufacturing organization in the future.”
Trevorrow began his GM career in North American manufacturing, later serving in Japan and advancing through roles that included executive director of global body manufacturing engineering, plant executive director of the Lansing region, and VP of global workplace safety.
Notably, he was named VP of North American manufacturing in 2023 and advanced to global manufacturing engineering leadership in early 2024.
His promotion highlights GM’s commitment to integrating advanced manufacturing technologies as part of its long-term strategy to enhance vehicle development, execution, and customer experience.
