Ford’s $465K wildfire relief initiative supports LA communities and customers

Ford dealers across 13 western states, alongside Ford Philanthropy, have donated $465,000 to support wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles County. These funds were directed to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund, as well as the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and other local organizations aiding wildfire recovery.

This effort is part of Ford Philanthropy’s broader disaster relief initiatives, which have contributed $8 million to U.S. disaster relief since 2020. Ford’s contributions aim to provide both immediate and long-term assistance to affected communities.

Support for Disaster Relief Organizations

Ford Philanthropy annually partners with national and local nonprofits to support disaster response. Key organizations receiving aid for wildfire recovery include:

  • Team Rubicon: A veteran-led humanitarian organization ensuring long-term supply availability through partnerships with the Port of Los Angeles.
  • American Red Cross: Providing shelter, essentials, and support for evacuees and displaced families.
  • Feeding America and LA Regional Food Bank: Delivering food and meals to those in need.
  • World Central Kitchen: Offering meals to impacted communities on the ground.

Additionally, Ford employees are encouraged to volunteer through the Ford Volunteer Corps, with paid time off provided for participation in disaster relief efforts.

Moreover, Ford is taking steps to support its customers impacted by the fires, offering deferred payment options and employee pricing for those needing to purchase a new Ford or Lincoln vehicle.

For EV owners in FEMA-designated disaster areas, Ford has launched specific initiatives:

  • BlueOval™ Charge Network Reimbursement: Covering all public EV charging sessions within the impacted area from January 7-31, 2025.
  • Tesla Supercharger Adapters: Free adapters are provided to ensure customers can access Tesla Superchargers. These adapters are available at Ford dealerships in affected areas for customers with urgent charging needs.
  • Ford Power Promise: Replacing home chargers and covering standard installation costs for customers who lost their chargers in the fires.

These efforts highlight Ford’s commitment to supporting communities in times of crisis, ensuring relief for both wildfire victims and their customers.
