Honda has unveiled the facelifted 2025 Civic in hatchback and sedan body styles, marking the return of the hybrid powertrain to its North American lineup after a decade-long absence. The new Civic Hybrid, available in Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid trims, produces a combined 200 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque from its two electric motors paired with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, making it the most powerful Civic variant outside of the Type R.

The hybrid powertrain surpasses the outgoing turbo 1.5-liter model in acceleration while achieving nearly 50 mpg, thanks to meticulous suspension tuning with unique springs and dampers. Honda has yet to disclose detailed specifications, but the company anticipates that the hybrid models will account for nearly 40% of Civic sales.

The 2025 Civic lineup also includes the ICE-only LX and Sport models, powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 158 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque. All variants come equipped with a CVT, though no manual transmission option is mentioned.

Moreover, the 2025 Honda Civic will begin arriving in U.S. dealerships this June, starting with the sedan, followed by the hatchback later in the summer. The company will announce pricing details closer to the release date, but we expect the new Civic Hybrid to start at under $30,000.

Visually, the 2025 Civic features a sportier front design inspired by the Civic RS prototype from the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon, with body-colored garnish around the headlights and front splitter on hybrid trims. The sedan variant also has dark-tinted taillights, while the Sport Touring Hybrid features machine-finished 18-inch wheels and four new exterior color options.

Inside, the Civic maintains its previous design with minor updates, such as a gray interior option exclusive to the hybrid and the addition of USB-C ports across the lineup. The flagship Sport Touring Hybrid trim features a larger 9-inch infotainment display with Google built-in, compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
