On Friday, April 19, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a recall for Tesla’s Cybertruck, Elon Musk’s acclaimed ‘best product ever ‘, due to a faulty accelerator pedal.

According to the notice, Tesla is recalling 3,878 Cybertrucks due to a problem with the accelerator pedal pad that could come loose and get lodged in the interior trim, increasing the risk of a crash.

Moreover, Tesla launched its electric pickup late last year, after a two-year delay caused by production problems and battery supply constraints.

For the reassurance of Tesla Cybertruck owners, the NHTSA has confirmed that Tesla will replace or fix the accelerator pedal assembly at no cost. This proactive step by Tesla demonstrates its commitment to customer safety and satisfaction.

A report by recall management company BizzyCar has revealed that Tesla had to recall more than 2.4 million EVs in the first quarter of 2024 due to three different issues. However, over-the-air software updates often fix the majority of problems related to Tesla recalls.

Due to an improper warning sign font size, Tesla recalled roughly 2.2 million cars in the U.S. in February. Additionally, U.S. safety authorities raised their investigation into the company’s vehicles regarding power steering loss to the level of an engineering examination.
