2024 Chevy Corvette E-Ray has a ‘stealth’ driving mode

More information about the Chevy Corvette E-Ray, which is scheduled to be introduced next week, was disclosed in a video posted to Chevrolet’s social media platforms.

The E-Ray is expected to debut in the summer of 2023, with more intriguing colors on the way, and a plug-in hybrid version of the vehicle is incredibly unlikely.

As shown in the video, the E-Ray V8 propels it as it starts up and accelerates normally. Then it starts to move steadily while using electricity in the new “Stealth” mode. Remember that all of this assumes that the vehicle in question isn’t a plug-in hybrid. In other words, it solely relies on regenerative braking or other methods, such as directly using engine power to charge the battery. That makes it unclear how long the vehicle can stay in stealth mode.

The E-Ray is anticipated to have a front axle powered by one or maybe two electric motors and a rear axle powered by the 6.2-liter v-8, capable of reaching between 600 and 650 horsepower.

With the exception of the flat-plane, high-revving LT6, all of the Z06’s choices seem to be available. That includes Z06 aero, carbon fiber wheels, carbon brakes, and more. Contrary to Z06’s center-exit arrangement, it does have corner exhausts. In addition, a new design of five-spoke wheels was mentioned.

Hybrid vehicles with an all-electric range are excellent for covering the final few miles to a gas station, maneuvering a car into your driveway without starting it, or navigating stop-and-go traffic. In essence, it somewhat improves the entire car for a low cost.

The absence of a charging port is among the most intriguing details visible on the car’s bodywork. On the exterior of the car, there doesn’t seem to be one everywhere. Although the E-Ray insignia is visible on the lower rear quarter panel, it’s possible that in this early construction, a basic 3D model of a Z06 body is only being used.

On January 17, 2023, more will be revealed.
