Ford unveils new futuristic EV concept car, the Lincoln model L100

Ford

Ford unveiled their new concept car, the model L100, for luxury brand Lincoln late last week. The event took place at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, an ultra-luxury show in California, as part of Lincoln’s 100th-anniversary celebration. The futuristic concept car pays homage to Lincoln’s first luxury vehicle, the 1922 model L, while showcasing the company’s vision of what an electric luxury car could be.

The concept car features a sleek fastback with 360-degree glass around the top of the vehicle. Both the doors and the roof of the car open outward from the back, similar to futuristic concepts from other automakers.

The vehicle also features a “jewel-inspired chess piece controller” that replaces the steering wheel. Lincoln badging is illuminated on the car in place of traditional physical emblems, similar to a previous crossover concept unveiled earlier this year.

Ford’s Chief Design Officer, Anthony Lo, said in a release, “Concept vehicles allow us to reimagine and illustrate how new experiences can come to life with the help of advanced technologies and allow our designers more creative freedom than ever before.”

The concept vehicle is not intended for sale or production but instead to gauge customer interest and generate attention for the possible future direction of a brand.
